The Code of the High Seas

Jolly Roger

Arrr, matey. Welcome to the one page on this site we genuinely hoped you'd never need to read. The files, designs, and digital goods sold and distributed by Pontiac Printing Press LLC are protected by copyright law — on land and at sea.

Every file we release — paid or free — comes with a license. That license tells you exactly what you can do with it. When you download or purchase from us, you're agreeing to sail within those waters. Step outside them, and you've crossed into piracy territory.

The Short Version

Do not redistribute, resell, or re-upload our files — paid or free — without our explicit written consent. Use them. Enjoy them. Don't pass them around like a bottle of rum that isn't yours.

What Counts as Piracy

We're not here to string anyone up for printing a personal copy. But there's a difference between personal use and flying the Jolly Roger. The following actions constitute piracy under this policy and applicable copyright law:

  • Uploading or redistributing our files on any platform — Thingiverse, Printables, Cults3D, Discord, Google Drive, a USB stick, a carrier pigeon, or otherwise — without written permission
  • Reselling our digital files, modified or unmodified, as your own product
  • Using our paid files commercially without purchasing a commercial license
  • Sharing login credentials or download links to bypass purchasing
  • Scraping, mirroring, or bulk-downloading our content without authorization

Free files are still our intellectual property. “Free” means free to use — not free to redistribute, rebrand, or sell.

Davy Jones' Locker

If you're caught pirating Pontiac Printing Press files, our legal team will send you to Davy Jones' Locker — the legal equivalent thereof.

In less theatrical terms: unauthorized distribution of our intellectual property is a violation of U.S. copyright law (17 U.S.C. § 501 et seq.) and may expose you to civil liability including statutory damages of up to $150,000 per work infringed for willful infringement. We take this seriously. The seas have eyes.

What We May Do

Issue DMCA takedown notices · Pursue civil claims for damages · Revoke your license and account access · Report willful infringement to relevant authorities · Generally make your life less fun than it was before

We'd rather not. But we will.

Stay on the Right Side

Here's what you can do with our files, no questions asked:

  • Print them for personal use
  • Print them as gifts for friends and family (non-commercial)
  • Modify them for your own personal prints
  • Show them off — tag us, we love that

Want to do something not on that list? Ask us. We're reasonable people and we're open to commercial licensing, partnerships, and bulk arrangements. Send a message to hello@ppp.studio and let's talk it out like civilized sailors.

Report a Pirate

Spotted someone redistributing our files without permission? We'd want to know. Send us a link and a description to hello@ppp.studio with the subject line PIRACY REPORT. We investigate every report.
